Richard Meier

Richard Meier was born on October 31, 1934 in Newark, New Jersey, USA. Known as one of the most important representatives of modern architecture, Meier creates transparent and luminous spaces, especially using white surfaces and geometric forms. Among his best-known works are the Getty Center, the National Museum of Art of Catalonia in Barcelona and the High Museum of Art. In 1984, he reached the pinnacle of his career by winning the Pritzker Architecture Prize. Meier made significant contributions to the development of modernism in architecture by adopting an aesthetic understanding in harmony with nature in his designs.
